FRP & FRVE centrifugal blowers for corrosive exhaust

Backward-curved impellers in FRP and fibre-reinforced vinyl ester, designed on our own fan software and performance-tested to IS 4894 before they leave the plant.

4,000+
Blowers in operation across India and abroad
165,000
Am³/h largest executed, at 550 mmWC
1,000+
mmWC delivered by our FRP impellers
BUILT TO  IS 4894 · BS 848
01 — CONFIGURATIONS

From a lab hood fan to a 600 HP scrubber ID fan.

Every blower is selected against the system it will sit in. A fan picked off a catalogue curve is the most common reason an exhaust system underperforms.
TYPE 01
Backward-curved FRP / FRVE
The standard for corrosive fume. Stable, non-overloading curve and high efficiency.
FRP · FRVE
TYPE 02
High-pressure blowers
Impellers beyond 1,000 mmWC for venturi scrubbers and long duct runs.
TO 1,000+ MMWC
TYPE 03
PP & PVC blowers
Thermoplastic construction for smaller duties and specific chemistries.
THERMOPLASTIC
TYPE 04
Large and special duty
Directly coupled extended-shaft designs for the biggest scrubber and FGD systems.
TO 165,000 AM³/H
02 — SPECIFICATION

The envelope, in numbers.

Our proprietary fan design suite sizes the shaft, the sheet thickness by material and the motor rating, and produces the theoretical performance curve before fabrication.

03 — APPLICATIONS

Where our blowers run

Scrubber ID fans
Induced-draft duty after packed bed, venturi and FGD scrubbers
Process exhaust
Reactor vents · process vessels · solvent recovery
Local exhaust ventilation
Plating and pickling lines · fume hoods · laboratory exhaust
Industries
Pharma · chemicals · metals · electrochemical · paints
04 — HOW WE SIZE IT

Four decisions make or break a fan selection.

System resistance first. Static loss across hoods, ducts and the scrubber, calculated to ACGIH, before any fan is chosen.
Operating point on a real curve. Our own generated curve, so the duty point sits where the fan is efficient and stable.
Material against the gas. FRP, FRVE or thermoplastic chosen for the chemistry and temperature the impeller will see.
Shaft, bearings and motor margin. Shaft sized for the actual impeller mass and speed, and a motor with honest margin.

05 — CONSTRUCTION

How a Bhavi blower is built

01
Impeller
Backward-curved blades laminated to the hub and backplate, then statically and dynamically balanced.
02
Casing
Scroll casing in FRP, FRVE or thermoplastic, with a drain and an inspection door.
03
Shaft sealing
A seal at the shaft entry so corrosive fume does not reach the bearings or the plant.
04
Bearings outside the gas stream
Bearings mounted clear of the fume path, on a rigid base frame.
05
Tested before despatch
Performance tested on our IS 4894 rig, with the curve supplied alongside the fan.

07 — QUESTIONS

What engineers ask us first

These answers are also written for search. Each question is a query buyers type into Google, which is why the FAQ block sits on every equipment page.

Why FRP rather than mild steel or stainless steel?+
For acid and chlorinated fume, FRP does not corrode the way metals do, weighs less, and avoids the cost of exotic alloys. For very high temperatures or abrasive dust a metallic fan can still be the right answer, and we will say so.
What is FRVE?+
Fibre-reinforced vinyl ester: FRP built with a vinyl ester resin system, which gives better resistance to strong acids, oxidisers and elevated temperature than general-purpose polyester.
How is fan performance verified?+
Blowers are tested on our in-house rig built to IS 4894, and the measured curve is supplied with the unit.
Direct drive or belt drive?+
Direct drive is more efficient and needs less maintenance. Belt drive allows speed adjustment and suits smaller units. We recommend based on duty and how often the operating point will change.
Can you replace an old Bhavi blower or impeller?+
Yes. We hold design records for blowers built over several decades and can supply matching impellers or a re-rated replacement.
